2. Physical properties
High Efficiency Manganese Metal is the elemental metal obtained through acid leaching of manganese salt from manganese ore, followed by electrolysis. It has a similar appearance to iron, with irregular flakes that are firm and brittle. One side of the flakes is bright, while the other side is rough. The color ranges from silver-white to brown, and it turns silver-gray after being processed into powder.
High Efficiency Manganese Metal is prone to oxidation when exposed to air. It dissolves and displaces hydrogen when it comes into contact with dilute acid. Additionally, it can decompose water and release hydrogen when the temperature is slightly higher than room temperature.
3. Refinning Methods of Electrolytic Metal Manganese
Electrolytic manganese is produced through the electrosilicon thermal method or electrolytic remelting method, using electrolytic manganese as the raw material. Currently, electrolysis has become the primary method for manganese production.
The purity of manganese metal produced through the thermal method (referred to as manganese metal) is typically around 95% to 98%. In contrast, the purity of manganese metal prepared through the electrolytic method (known as electrolytic manganese metal) can reach levels as high as 99.7% to 99.9%.
